mianmar

Approximately 259,000 people in Myanmar, including 88,000 children are in desperate need of live saving assistance due to monsoon floods over the past two months.

The Myanmar Government has declared the area a natural disaster zone and are attempting to give assistance to the victims.

UNICEF is working in full cooperation with the Government of Myanmar and teams are already in the field to assess the situation and help children and their families with numerous essential aspects including: health care, clean and safe drinking water, nutrition and hygiene.

UNICEF began distributing water purification tablets and hygiene kits to residents and are communicating through media channels in order to inform citizens how to avoid becoming infecting from contaminated water.
