UNICEF, working in almost 200 countries, is the leading humanitarian aid agency working to save the lives of children around the world and provide them with clean water, education, protection in emergencies, and more.
UNICEF was established in 1946 by the UN, following the initiative of Dr. Ludwig Rajchmann—a Polish Jewish doctor and world-renown leader in public health, who led the establishment of UNICEF to provide aid to children of Europe in the aftermath of WWII regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or gender.
UNICEF—the United Nations Children’s Fund—developed into a global organization aiming to save the lives of all children in every country around the world.
